An importer’s need for or risk associated with compliance for Customs Programs can be determined in responding to the following questions:
1. Continuing access to imports in terms of timely delivery and current duty costs is important to continued sales and financial performance.
2. We have had an audit by CBSA in the last 2 years.
3. We are confident our import records could withstand a CBSA audit.
If the answer to question 2 or 3 is NO you should be considering how to develop a customs compliance action plan. Tracon can assist and will review your customs processes, design and put in place a self-monitoring program, and keep you up to date on changes to CBSA policies, practices and procedures that could impact your timely access to imports.
